Feedbucket and ClickUp integration

Feedbucket can deeply integrate with ClickUp. That means that your team should be able to manage all feedback inside of ClickUp instead of in the Feedbucket Admin.

Video Tutorial

Install the ClickUp integration on your Feedbucket project

  1. Go to your project and then click the tab Integrations.
  2. On the integrations page click the button Connect next to ClickUp as show in the image below.

  1. If this is the first time you are connecting Feedbucket and ClickUp you will be redirected to ClickUp where you have to allow Feedbucket. Select your workspace and then click the button Connect Workspace like shown below. Once the connection between Feedbucket and ClickUp has been established you will be redirected back to Feedbucket.

  1. You will now see a green bar on the ClickUp integration that indicates that the connection is made. The settings should have opened automatically but in case it doesn't, click on the Settings button to start configuring the ClickUp connection for this project.

Configure the ClickUp integration to your needs

Most often, you will create one Feedbucket project per client website you are building. That way you can connect each project to a specific list inside of ClickUp as well. It's up to you how you want to configure it.

After you connect you should see the configuration pop-up. If you don't, just click on the Open Settings button.

  1. Select the Workspace. If you only allowed one Workspace when connecting Feedbucket (Step #3 on installation) there should only be one value here.
  2. Select the space.
  3. Select what list Feedbucket should create new tasks in. The list will be updated when you change space.
  4. The resolve status type is probably the only thing that might be a bit confusing. This is the status type that Feedbucket should associate with a feedback being resolved. By default that type in ClickUp is Closed but it can also be Done. You can view your settings in Manage Statuses in your list at ClickUp. See more here.
  5. For more advanced settings, click the button and they will show.
  6. Set default tags. This means that the task in ClickUp will always have these tags when created by Feedbucket. Feedbucket can also sync tags with ClickUp. Read more about it under Using the integration

How to use the ClickUp integration

Once you have configured everything as you wish, below is how the integration should behave.

When new feedback is created

Whenever a new piece of feedback is created in Feedbucket, a task will be created inside of ClickUp. This task will be placed in the space that you selected in step #2 above and under the list that you selected in step #3 above. The task will automatically have all of the technical details that Feedbucket collected like the session information of the reporter, the screenshot/recording etc.

If you have any Tags as selected in #6 above, the task will have those as well. Or if you have tag sync set up between Feedbucket and ClickUp we will automatically add the tag on your task in ClickUp.

Note that the task created in ClickUp will be created by the account that you configured Feedbucket and ClickUp with in step #3 of the Installation above.

When a new comment is created on feedback

A piece of feedback can have lots of comments as a thread to communicate and collaborate. When a new comment is created on a piece of feedback that has been created in ClickUp by Feedbucket, that comment will also be created inside of ClickUp under the correct task. That way, all comments that happens in Feedbucket will automatically be pushed to ClickUp as well.

Comments created in Feedbucket will automatically be attached to the ClickUp task

As you can see in the image the real power lies in the two-way communication here. If your team needs to ask a follow-up question that can be done without leaving ClickUp. All you have to do is to add a new comment that starts with @feedbucket and it will automatically be pushed over to Feedbucket and notify the client of this new comment from you. Regular comments submitted without the prefix of feedbucket will not sync over so you can continue to keep your internal conversations flowing in ClickUp.

When using the at (@) symbol in ClickUp it will think you want to mention someone inside of ClickUp. You should just write the @feedbucket as regular text and not click in the mention drop down.

When the feedback is resolved

If the feedback gets resolved from Feedbucket, the task will automatically be marked as completed in ClickUp

Again, there is a 2-way integration here as well. If your team has completed the feedback they can mark the task as completed inside of ClickUp and it will automatically resolve in Feedbucket. This way your team can manage all aspects of the feedback without leaving ClickUp.

When the feedback gets re-opened

If the feedback gets unresolved from Feedbucket the task will automatically get the status that has status type of Not Started. You can see more about your ClickUp Not started status type in their documentation.

How to sync tags between Feedbucket and ClickUp

Feedbucket can keep tags in sync with ClickUp. To know more about how to set this up you can view the documentation of tags.

In essence it means this:

  1. If you add a tag to a piece of feedback in Feedbucket that is set to sync with ClickUp, Feedbucket will update the ClickUp task and set the tag. If you remove a tag in Feedbucket, it will be removed in ClickUp.
  2. If you add a tag to the task in ClickUp, the feedback in Feedbucket will also get this tag if it's set up to sync.
