Feedbucket and Teamwork integration

Feedbucket can deeply integrate with Teamwork. That means that your team should be able to manage all feedback inside of Teamwork instead of in the Feedbucket Admin.

Video Tutorial

Install the Teamwork integration on your Feedbucket project

  1. Go to your project and then click the tab Integrations.
  2. On the integrations page click the button Connect next to Teamwork as show in the image below.

  1. If this is the first time you are connecting Feedbucket and Teamwork you will be redirected to Teamwork where you have to allow Feedbucket. Once the connection between Feedbucket and Teamwork has been established you will be redirected back to Feedbucket.

  1. You will now see a green bar on the Teamwork integration that indicates that the connection is made. The settings should have opened automatically but in case it doesn't, click on the Settings button to start configuring the Teamwork connection for this project.

Configure the Teamwork integration to your needs

Most often, you will create one Feedbucket project per client website you are building. That way you can connect each project to a specific project and tasklist inside of Teamwork. It's up to you how you want to configure it.

After you connect you should see the configuration pop-up. If you don't, just click on the Open Settings button.

  1. Select the Project. Feedbucket will list all of your projects in Teamwork that you have access to. If you do not see your project, check your permissions in Teamwork.
  2. Select tasklist. This is the tasklist where Feedbucket will create new tasks in when a new feedback is created.

Please read through the warning alert. Webhooks is not included in all plans and is disabled by default. In order to get the 2-way communication to work. This needs to be handled. Follow the link in the alert to see how you enable webhooks for your Teamwork account.

  1. Click the Advanced Settings button to show more settings.
  2. Handle how Tags will be set. First of all, you can sync tags between Feedbucket and Teamwork. Read more about it under Using the integration. You can also set default tags here that will always, no matter what, be set on the task that Feedbucket creates in Teamwork.

How to use the Teamwork integration

Once you have configured everything as you wish, below is how the integration should behave.

When new feedback is created

Whenever a new piece of feedback is created in Feedbucket, a task will be created in the tasklist of the project that you configured in step #1 and #2. The task will automatically have all of the technical details that Feedbucket collected like the session information of the reporter, the screenshot/recording etc.

If you have added any tags from configuration step #4, they will automatically be set on the task as well.

Note that the task will be created with the Teamwork account that you connected Feedbucket and Teamwork with under #3 of the installation.

When a new comment is created on feedback

A piece of feedback can have lots of comments as a thread to communicate and collaborate. When a new comment is created on a piece of feedback that has been created in Teamwork by Feedbucket, that comment will also be created inside of Teamwork under the correct task. That way, all comments that happens in Feedbucket will automatically be pushed to Teamwork as well.

As you can see in the image the real power lies in the two-way communication here. If your team needs to ask a follow-up question that can be done without leaving Teamwork. All you have to do is to add a new comment that starts with @feedbucket and it will automatically be pushed over to Feedbucket and notify the client of this new comment from you. Regular comments submitted without the prefix of feedbucket will not sync over so you can continue to keep your internal conversations flowing in Teamwork.

When using the at (@) symbol in Teamwork it will think you want to mention someone inside of Teamwork. You should just write the @feedbucket as regular text and not click in the mention drop down.

When the feedback is resolved

If the feedback gets resolved from Feedbucket, the task will automatically be marked as completed in Teamwork.

Again, there is a 2-way integration here as well. If your team has completed the feedback they can mark the task as completed inside of Teamwork and it will automatically resolve in Feedbucket. This way your team can manage all aspects of the feedback without leaving Teamwork.

When the feedback gets re-opened

If the feedback gets re-opened from Feedbucket we will mark the task in Teamwork as not complete anymore.

We have 2-way integration here as well. If you re-open the task inside of Teamwork it will be re-opened in Feedbucket as well.

How to sync tags between Feedbucket and Asana

Feedbucket can keep tags in sync with Teamwork. To know more about how to set this up you can view the documentation of tags.

Note that Feedbucket fetches all Site tags. If you have certain project tags it's up to you to make sure that the tag can be used in your selected project from Configuration Step #1.

In essence it means this:

  1. If you add a tag to a piece of feedback in Feedbucket that is set to sync with Teamwork, Feedbucket will update the Teamwork task and set the tag. If you remove a tag in Feedbucket, it will be removed in Teamwork.
  2. If you add a tag to the task in Teamwork, the feedback in Feedbucket will also get this tag if it's set up to sync.
