Close feedback submission

You can easily close the feedback submission for a project. This means that when someone clicks on either submitting feedback with screenshot or recording, they won't be able to. This is perfect for if you want to have better control of when someone is allowed to submit new feedback.

To close the feedback submission head to the Settings page of your project and go to Widget. Under the heading of Functionality you will see a toggle for Feedback submission open. Turn that toggle off and the widget can not submit any feedback.

When feedback submission is closed the user will see this pop-up when trying to submit feedback:

Feedbucket exposes certain methods for you to be able to interact with the widget.

Hide the controls

This method will hide the controls of Feedbucket. When we say controls we mean the buttons where you activate the features like screenshot, recording, etc.

Create an image feedback project

The first thing that you need to do is to create a new project of type Image feedback. Click on the Create project button and switch the toggle to Design, enter your project name and click Create Project.

Upload Assets (images)

Click on the button Create New Asset to start the process. When it comes to design feedback you can usually think of an Asset as a page in your design. For example Home Page, About Page, Contact Page, and so on. However, you are free to chose the name of this asset that you want to collect feedback on. An asset can have one of two different modes:

An asset that has different devices. This is perfect for when you want to group how the Contact Page for example look on both mobile, tablet, and desktop.
An asset without version. This is basically a regular image that you want to collect feedback on.

Uploading an asset with different devices

Start by filling out the name of the asset like Contact Page.
Make sure to select Yes on the question if this asset has different devices.
Check the boxes on the different devices that you want to add to this asset. Note At the moment, we only have Mobile, Tablet, and Desktop as available devices.

Submit Members only feedback

What is Member Feedback?

It's a way to submit feedback that only Members (those who have a Feedbucket user account) can see. Your clients won't have a user account in Feedbucket, so this mainly facilitates submitting internal feedback that your clients cannot see. If you do a round of internal QA before sending the staging site to the client, this is perfect for ensuring the client can't see all the internal feedback that happened beforehand.

How to set it up?

The tricky part with Member feedback is that you install the Feedbucket widget on a domain that is not controlled by Feedbucket. For example, you might install the Feedbucket widget on myclientswebsite.com. In the Feedbucket widget, we need to check whether you are logged in to the Feedbucket platform. We do this using third-party cookies. Third-party cookies are not being phased out and we continue to monitor the discussion.

All modern browsers support this for both mobile and desktop but might require some changes to settings as can be seen below:

Feedbucket can deeply integrate with Asana. That means that your team should be able to manage all feedback inside of Asana instead of in the Feedbucket Admin.

Install the Asana integration on your Feedbucket project

Go to your project and then click the tab Integrations.
On the integrations page click the button Connect next to Asana as show in the image below.
If this is the first time you are connecting Feedbucket and Asana you will be redirected to Asana where you have to allow Feedbucket. Once the connection between Feedbucket and Asana has been established you will be redirected back to Feedbucket.
You will now see a green bar on the Asana integration that indicates that the connection is made. The settings should have opened automatically but in case it doesn't, click on the Settings button to start configuring the Asana connection for this project.

Configure the Asana integration to your needs

Most often, you will create one Feedbucket project per client website you are building. That way you can connect each project to a specific project inside of Asana as well. It's up to you how you want to configure it.
