Feedbucket REST API

Feedbucket now has a public REST API that gives you programmatic access to your account, and that you can use to execute actions like creating feedback and comments from your back-end.

In this article we will only talk about how to authenticate against the API. For the full documentation with routes and actions, visit docs.feedbucket.app.

Table of Contents

Authentication

You will need to authenticate every request with a Bearer header.

In order to create your personal access token, please follow these steps:

  1. Click on the avatar icon in the upper right
  2. Select Account
  3. Select Access Tokens on the left side menu
  4. Click on Create Token

Use a token

Send the token as an Authorization header on requests to the API.

Authorization: Bearer YOUR_TOKEN

Example request (curl):

curl https://dashboard.feedbucket.app/api/v1/projects \
--header 'Authorization: Bearer YOUR_SECRET_TOKEN'

The token must include the api:use scope. Requests are executed as the user who owns the token, using that user's current team, so the token only has access to the projects visible to that user within their active team.

Requests without a valid token receive 401 Unauthorized. Tokens that are missing the api:use scope receive 403 Forbidden.

Explore and use the routes

We offer a variety of routes that are divided by category:

  • Projects
  • Attachments
  • Feedback
  • Comments

Head to our full API documentation here to discover what you can do and start using the REST API.
